Review of Thera-Diet (Paperback)

A very good program that helped me understand and change my eating behaviors. A lot of these principles can be applied in many areas of improving life through changes. Excellent hypnosis audio.

Product Description
Don't read this book unless you serious about losing weight. This program is different in that it utilizes a non diet based approach. Unlike the majority of diet based programs that often have high failure rates, this program raises awareness of the internal self belief system and its influence on ones eating behaviors. There is a reason that you have been disappointed upon losing weight, only to regain it over and over again. Now a true life style change will emerge upon recognizing the influence and reframing those self harming internal beliefs that effect ones eating behaviors. This book can also be a resource for the Lap Band & other weight loss surgery recipients. This is an eating behavioral modification program that will impact your life. Now you have discovered the power to set yourself free from the imprisonment of fat and live life to the fullest. As an Added Bonus, one can download a motivation hypnotic audio program onto a blank CDR disk. This can be done from my website with any computer. This will assist in motivating a person to adhere to my weight loss program.

Review of The Gut Flush Plan : The Breakthrough Cleansing Program to Rid Your Body of the Toxins That Make You Sick, Tired, and Bloated (Hardcover)

I have been a big ALG fan for a while, but this book takes it a little too far.A few things I noticed (I did not read from cover to cover)

--This book seems to almost require purchase of her products, which was not necessary to follow her plans in previous books. So I find that annoying.Buy my book and then my products.
--She is really moving to germaphobe land in my opinion.I can understand skipping the salad bar to avoid bacteria and stuff, but she seems to question having pets. She does not say get rid of your animals, restrict your contact, you get the idea.Really drifting toward living in a bubble.

I guess if you are really sick and not digesting food well this might be the book for you.But if you are just looking to feel and be more healthy and/or lose some weight, try the Fat Flush Plan and/or the Detox.I know when I do the original Fat Flush I feel great physically, emotionally, my skin clears, etc. However, this book just goes too far for my lifestyle to be actually doable.

The Breakthrough Cleansing Program to Rid Your Body of the Toxins That Make You Sick, Tired, and Bloated

A groundbreaking plan to cleanse your system and revitalize your health.

Review of The Fat Fallacy: The French Diet Secrets to Permanent Weight Loss (Paperback)

I first spotted The Fat Fallacy in a bookstore at a time when I was feeling frustrated at not being able to shed those last 10 pounds after months of exercising more regularly than I ever had before and trying to eat low-fat.I was intrigued by the idea that I could eat foods I love - cheese, full-fat premium ice cream, and chocolate - all while losing weight.

It sounded almost too good to be true, but I'd seen firsthand from a trip to Paris that the French ate very differently from us yet stayed thin. Also, many of Will Clower's comments made a lot of sense intuitively.I decided to give it a try, hoping for the best, but promising to stop if it caused me to gain weight instead.

I tossed out the skim milk, "low-fat" cheese, and processed foods containing high-fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils and other artificial ingredients (you'd be amazed how many things include them!).To refill my pantry and refrigerator, I bought cream-top yogurt, whole milk, cheese, freshly baked french bread, good olive oil, high-quality dark chocolate, fresh vegetables, etc.I loved eating the new foods, found I didn't need to eat as much as before to feel satisfied, and was amazed at how quickly I saw the pounds start coming off.

Within just over a month of making the changes, I had lost the 10 pounds I'd been struggling with.Another 5 pounds that I wasn't even trying to lose came off in the following month, leaving me happily surprised to have dropped 3 clothing sizes.Wow!It's so wonderful to be able to enjoy food without guilt, and to be happy with my body at the same time!

I've since bought several copies of The Fat Fallacy to share with friends and family who've expressed interest.I'm always happy to be able to tell people about this book, as it encourages a healthy lifestyle rather than a "diet".It's definitely worth reading, and the recommendations seem so much healthier than some of today's trendier diets.Hope you'll read it and get as much out of it as I did!

Fat is not the enemy!

Croissants. Brioche. Brie. To the American palate, these foods are fattening and oftentimes "forbidden." Yet they are the regular staples of the French diet. And though almost half of all Americans are overweight, France's obesity rate is at a low eight percent, while the French also boast fewer cases of stroke and heart disease. It's clear that America's obsession with low-fat and fat-free foods has ultimately failed.
In The Fat Fallacy, neuroscientist Will Clower explains precisely why the American diet sabotages weight-loss efforts and discusses how French eating habits can lead to better health and trimmer physiques. In this revolutionary work, Dr. Clower explains:

- How highly processed "fake foods" are the real culprit in the American diet
- Why it's not just what you eat but how you eat that makes a difference
- Easy ways to adopt the habits of the French to melt the pounds away, including
complete dinner recipes-with dessert!

Finally, here's a plan that cuts through the high-protein/low-fat debate. It's not a gimmicky diet program but a way of life that will invite Americans to enjoy food like never before-while being healthier and trimmer than they ever could have imagined.

Review of The Atkins Diet and Philosophy (Popular Culture and Philosophy) (Paperback)

Sixteen essays by contributors who add a dose of philosophical reflection into the Atkins diet controversy will appeal to both pro and con diet readers. They come from practitioners of the diet, those not on it, and those who want little to do with it. It's more philosophical observation than diet plan - but any interested in Atkins and philosophy alike will find here an intriguing ability to link philosophical thinking to modern culture.

Product Description
The Atkins diet has transformed the lives of millions of people, revolutionizing grocery store shelves, restaurant menus, and dinner-table conversations. But there are questions beyond its efficacy and longevity. Is the Atkins diet a new wrinkle in capitalist exploitation or a twisted expression of negative body images? Is it a symbol of super-masculinity? Has the Atkins diet really been around for centuries under other names? Can it increase intelligence, or cause global warming and melt the polar ice caps? How does Atkins fit into Kant's conception of the moral life, or Rousseau's vision of a kinder, gentler human society? The Atkins Diet and Philosophy wittily explores these and other pressing questions in sixteen entertaining essays. Following the same fun, readable approach as earlier volumes in this series, this book uses philosophy to put the Atkins diet under the microscope, and uses the Atkins diet to teach vital philosophical lessons for life.

Review of The Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program: Personalized Plan for Becoming Slim, Fit & Healthyin your 40's 50's 60's and Beyond (Paperback)

I have been using the book and the "diet" for a while now and will report that I feel terrific, which is even more important than my weight loss, which is happening. This book/diet does not promote a highfat/high protein diet like Atkins (which I tried and got sick from), butdoes promote a balanced low-fat, low-carb diet.Almost instantly, I wasfinding my energy levels elevated all day. Before, I would be sleepy latemorning, mid-afternoon and early evening. Now, I can concentrate at work, and have the energy to exercise at night. That's been the most excitingchange. It would be easy for some to dismiss this diet because of thereward meal, but the truth is that once you start the program, your desireto pig out at the reward meal goes away.Yes, I enjoy the fact that I canhave dessert, but I usually don't want that much. Not because I amstuffed; I just don't have the strong desire I used to have!Anyway, giveit a try -- but only if you pass the test and are a Carb Addict.GoodLuck!
